Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Chaplet
Kateri, whose name is derived from “Catherine” and
A Chaplet of prayers dedicated in honor of Saint Kateri Tekakwitha
“Lily of the Mohawks”
Tekakwitha, which in Mohawk means, “Putting things in order” and
“Moving all things before her,” was 24 years young when she departed from this world and joined her beloved Ra-wen-ni-io, the God who created all things on Turtle Island and gave her an immortal soul and set it afire with a consuming love and desire for eternal life, free from sin.
24 Beads symbolizes Kateri’s short and painful life, yet fruitful years on earth.
Brown or Gold beads represents the color of Mother Earth. Ask for Saint Kateri’s intercession before God to set the Earth, our minds, our bodies, and all our problems in order.
Red beads represents the color of Love. Love runs in the red blood that flows through all humankind. Red is for the high form of love we must have for each other and the great love Kateri had for Our Blessed Mother, Mary. Ask Saint Kateri to form this love in all our hearts and to lead us all back to Jesus Christ.
Clear or White beads represents the clear lakes and streams we believe are the tears of the Great Spirit. May God restore the beauty of our water, skies, forests and air-the ecology of our entire World.
